Claims Process

When damage occurs to the roof of your home or business, it is important to get the job done quickly and avoid any water damage that can occur underneath the roof. Unfortunately, the process can often be slowed down as a result of dealing with the insurance company.

Our Minneapolis roofing staff, however, has many years of experience dealing with insurance companies for roofing repairs and other services. Our staff is fully trained in filing insurance claims on the behalf of our clients and we can even work directly with your adjuster to relieve the stress and frustration of doing it yourself. We know your time is valuable so we do everything we can to make your life simpler. And since we work with insurance companies and adjusters every day, we can often work out better deals during the claims process than you could do yourself.

There are basically two steps to the claims process when damage occurs to your roof. Those steps are as follows:

Get an Estimate

The first step to any insurance claims process is to get an estimate. Actually, your insurance will probably want you to have at least three estimates before they will approve any repairs. The company will then evaluate the damages and the estimates that you have provided and give you a figure of how much they will give you to fix the damages. This is called the “total insurance allowance.” Many people make the mistake of choosing the company with the lowest priced estimate, but this is not the best thing to do. You should always consider the roofing company’s reputation when choosing a Minneapolis roofer. CallRoofer.com has the reputation you are looking for along with the competitive prices you need. We do the job correctly and our list of satisfied customers can attest to our reputation.

Claims Payments

Once you have your estimates and the insurance company approves the repair for the damages, you will probably receive two checks. The first check the insurance company typically sends is the Actual Cash Value check. This check takes your property’s depreciation into consideration. After the damages are repaired, your contractor will send an invoice to the insurance company which will show the actual cost of the repairs.
